My professional journey began in the field of architecture. After majoring in architecture at university, I designed custom-built homes at a major home builder and later served as a project leader at a real estate developer, overseeing the planning and design of numerous condominium projects. Experiencing a diverse range of roles in my 20s—including sales, design, marketing, product development, and advertising—I achieved my early career goals. Seeking my next professional milestone, a trusted friend suggested that the intellectual property (IP) field would be well-suited to my background and skills. This insight led me to transition into the world of IP in 2004.

Since then, I have honed my expertise at prominent patent firms. I served as a Group Head in the Electrical & Mechanical Department, contributing to organizational management, and later shouldered significant responsibilities as a Partner Patent Attorney. Throughout my career, I have successfully secured patent rights for a wide range of clients, from individual inventors and SMEs to major domestic and international corporations.

The field of IP is incredibly vast. Working at the forefront of cutting-edge technology while supporting our clients' businesses as a specialist gives me a unique sense of duty and pride. There is no greater joy for me than seeing the projects I handle culminate in solid IP rights that actively protect and drive our clients' business growth.

Designing custom-built homes taught me how to carefully listen to and realize each client’s unique vision. Conversely, my developer background trained me to strategically analyze market demands and create valuable projects based on precise marketing data.

I am convinced that these two contrasting perspectives—client-centric customization and market-driven strategy—are the core strengths of my current IP practice. When transforming a client's vision into intellectual property, I go beyond merely drafting what is requested. I strategically anticipate future examinations and potential infringement risks to maximize the enforceability of the rights. This ability to combine deep client empathy with forward-looking legal strategy is my greatest asset.
